This beautifully illustrated book of folk tales and children's stories is illustrated by the renowned husband and wife illustrator team of Lucille and H. C. Holling. Book is in near fine condition with just a few bumps to corners . No internal markings. Lush, full-color end papers. Dust jacket has some very minor creasing and chipping to edges and spine ends, and is price clipped with some initials and a price in pen on FFL. Small closed tear on rear top edge of DJ.

The Platt & Monk Co. Hardcover. Good/Poor. 4to hardcover with red boards and a white cloth spine. The condition of the book is Good (shelf wear the bottom edges resulting in some exposure to the boards underneath; tail end of the spine has lost some cloth exposing the binding; binding is tight; writing from previous owner on the first free endpaper). The condition of the dust jacket is Poor (mylar wrapped/connected to the book; large open tear at the top and tail of the spine; large closed tear in the front panel, price clipped; color faded some; creasing and closed tears to all edges). Unpaginated.

The Platt & Munk Co, 1952. Ours is an ex-library copy with spine mended with brown book tape. There are rubs to corners, bumps to back corners, a small scrape to front side. Usual library stamps inside front cover. Table of contents page has a tear that has been mended with adhesive tape but the tape has fallen off leaving some residue. There are some finger smudges in text and a couple of noticed tears to side of pages. Obviously a well loved book.. Hardcover. Fair. Illus. by Lucille W. And H. C. Holling.
