Philadelphia: League of American Wheelmen, 1898. First Edition. Very Good. 103pp, including 35 double-page maps in black and white. Printed inside the cover is "The Rights of Wheelmen: An Act defining the rights and regulating the use of Bicycles and Tricycles." The text includes an explanation of the maps and an index to them, a list of reporters of roads, routing for nine bicycle tours in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, Albany and Lake George, Hudson to Boston, A nine-page town index is found at the back of the book. Bound in printed tan cloth over flexible boards. Old owner's signature on cover. 7.5" x 4.5" "These maps show, without resort to color printing, a distinction between good, fair and bad roads, and also between roads which do and do not change with the weather and seasons..."
