Beginning of hinge crack at title page, else book is clean and tight with usual library markings. DJ shows some shelfwear but overall clean and crisp. 169 pages + index. Lots of b/w photos take beginning rider (or guides an instructor) through the first steps of mounting, holding the reins, and suppling exercises, to the walk, the trot, exercises and games, control, riding in pairs or fours, riding without a saddle, learning to canter, handling the horse and other activities..
