Portland, OR: Victor Ying Lee Post 147, American Legion, 1947. [20p.], staplebound booklet, very good. Program for a musical comedy variety show, put on by an American Legion post that was named after a Chinese American soldier from Portland who died in WW II. The production manager was Edgar E. Lee. Although most of the cast appears to have been white, the program had ties to the local Chinese American community, as shown by the ads, and a note on the rear cover says "Whenever a crisis had to be faced, our citizens of foreign birth have proved their faith and true Americanism to any point of sacrifice. Surely the part they played in World War II more than proves to what extent they can be counted on. Our hand reaches out to welcome every new citizen during 1947.
