About This Item
Hatje Cantz Verlag, Stuttgart, 2002. Ex-Library. Fair. Cloth with Board Slipcase. Withdrawn from an institutional library whose name is rubber-stamped on the front free endpaper and title page of each volume, with a bar code label still affixed to the rear paste-down of each. There is a bit of staining and adhesive residue left from the removal of labels at the foot of each spine, and a label to the reverse foot of the slipcase which is also a bit worn at the edges. A label is crossed out but still affixed to the front cover of the staple-bound book of essays, with the same rubber-stamp on the title page. Else, each binding is tight with minimal wear to the edges and corners. No other internal markings are noted. Two hardcover volumes in cardboard slipcase with accompanying staplebound text booklet with essay by Bruce Hainley in German and English. Checklists are included for the three gallery exhibitions that this was published on the occasion of at Museum für Gegenwarskunst Basel, August 12, 2001-February 24, 2002; Kunsthalle Zürich, February 2, 2002-April 1, 2002, and Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, April 27, 2002-July 28, 2002. Each volume between 180- 190 profusely illustrated pages. Woven between images are stories, jokes and texts by the artist who magnificently made a riotous career out of blurring the boundaries of taste and appropriation..
