States 'Fourth Thousandth' to title page. A collection of seventeen of Lewis Carroll's poetic works, including nonsense poem 'The Hunt for the Snark', with the original illustrations by Henry Holiday. Also present is 'Phantasmogoria', Caroll's longest poem, a seven canto discussion between man and ghost who, it turns out, are really not so different from one another. This poem, and the rest of the collection, are illustrated by A. B. Frost, a frequent collaborator of Carroll.Several of the poems in this collection were published here for the first time.A publisher's catalogue of Lewis Carroll's further works appears to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, boards are bright. Fading to the spine, with bumping to head and tail. Front hinge slightly strained but firm. Rear hinge tender, and may detach further without careful handling. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good
