About This Item

John Murray, London, 1977. Limited. Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket. Signed. 151 pages (complete). Hand-numbered 138 of a limited edition of 150 copies. Signed by Reynolds Stone on the certification page at the rear. Note on the certification page reads: "This ... was printed at the Curwen Press on Basingwerk Parchment made by Grosvenor Chater and bound in full Buckram by W & J Mackay with Cockerell endpapers and contains a signed engraving printed with an Albion Press by the artist on hand made cream wove from Wookey Hole Mill." The engraving is : 'Waterfall, Prescelly Mountains, south (sic) Wales, Unpublished, 1972'. It is in immaculate and heart-rendingly beautiful condition. Signed by Reynolds Stone in pencil. The book is also most specially inscribed and signed by the owner of, and the scions of, the publisher, John Murray: "To Henry as a token of Gratitude for being so splendid an ally to us all and with all good wishes from John Murray (vi), John Murray (vii) and Octavius (Murray viii) 13/iv/78". Each Murray signed separately, even the child Octavius. This appears on the first free page. The book is housed in a Cockerell covered slip-case. The slip-case has some handling marks, some benign wear. It is sturdy, sound, strong. The book is in beautiful condition. The boards are very, very lightly marked by handling. They are otherwise elegant. The contents are in thrilling condition. Creamy, thick, fresh, fulsome, clean, clear, wonderfully generous and bountiful, hale and keen. As if new throughout! Lovely, just lovely. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
