About This Item
London: Methuen & Co., 1952. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine. 7.5" by 5.5". None. A lovely reprint of Wyndham Lewis' novel featuring action, romance and misadventure, in an unclipped dust wrapper. This novel follows Margot, her husband, an artist, and a communist agent and the enterprise they are involved in; it is action-packed, and considers the price that we pay to love.Wyndham Lewis (1882-1957) was an English writer and critic. His works include 'Tarr', 'The Apes of God', 'Blasting and Bombardiering', 'The Red Priest' and 'The Vulgar Streak'. He was also a prolific painter, and wrote a great deal of essays and other assorted works on non-fiction.This novel was first published in 1937. Complete with a dust wrapper. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, with minor discolouration to the head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper is rather sunned to the spine, with shelf wear to the edges, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
