Encuadernación de la época en tela verde con hierros dorados en el plano y lomo. Sellos de la Bibl. Inst. Int. Expurgo. Buen estado de conservación. Thomas Hardy (Higher Bockhampton, Stinsford, cerca de Dorchester, 2 de junio de 1840 - Max Gate, 11 de enero de 1928) fue un novelista y poeta inglés, superador del naturalismo de su tiempo. La acción de todas sus novelas se desarrolla en el campo inglés, en una región bautizada por el novelista como Wessex y que es en realidad su Dorset natal. Cada ciudad de Wessex tiene su equivalencia real en la toponimia de Dorset; así, Oxford recibe en las novelas de Hardy el simbólico nombre de Christminster.
