London: Printed for the Society, 1802. Hardcover. Good. 2 volumes in one, the first volume being the Third Edition, published 1802, the second volume apparently the first edition, 1800. (We do not have the third volume). 8vo, old leather-backed marbled boards, pp. (xxiv) 283 (13), 368, 4. Condition is good to very good, some wear and straining to joints, light rubbing, marbled paper rubbed and some paper missing from corners and edges, contents very good and clean. Accounts of various ways in which the poor can be helped; there are about 100 such articles and tracts, with a large variety of authors and topics, with advice and accounts on cooking (including the making of soups and breads), cleaning, mining, farming, considerations of rent and tenancy, observations of cottage life and medical assistance, etc. Typical title: 'Extracts from an account of a female friendly society at Empingham in the county of Rutland' RARE. A third volume was published in 1802 -- we don't have it.
