Also inscribed to friends on the white ffep. This work narrates the dramas and cameraderie of firefighters working in the South Bronx in the 1960s and 1970s. Engine Company 82 was the busiest fire company in the most desperate neighbourhoods of America's largest city and Dennis Smith tells of the horrors and heroism of a firefighter's life.
