First edition, First Printing. (1896) In 2 volumes, complete. Near fine. Quite scarce. Illustrated profusely with numerous color plates, maps, folding maps--all complete. Volume One includes: 'The Indian Forts of the Blue Mountains' by H. M. M. Richards; "The Frontier Forts in the North and West Branches of the Susquehanna River" by John M. Buckalew; 'The Frontier Forts Within the Wyoming Valley Region' by Sheldon Reynolds, M.A.; and 'The Frontier Forts in the Cumberland and Yuniata Valleys' by Jay Gilfillan Weiser. Volume Two is "The Frontier Forts of Western Pennsylvania" by George Dallas Albert. Spines a touch faded, top corner of front free endpaper in Volume One has been archivally mended, otherwise an about near fine two-volume set in original dark blue cloth. Heavy Octavos. 627; 636 pages. A lovely and scarce set of this important period of Pennsylvanian history.
