(Book Club--unstated) Large, very heavy book, wine cloth badly faded on most of spine and back, gilt illustration and design near fine on front, very fine gilt lettering on spine, map of Italy inside covers and adjacent end papers during Renaissance and now, 776 lightly browned pages and 2-page biographies. DJ inside treated for mildew. DJ red and gold with illustration of Michelangelo on top front right, list of volumes in series on back with praise from New York Times. DJ has two tiny scratches near top front tip, tiny wear spots on top front, slight rubbing to spine, micronick at spine bottom edge, white back lightly browned. DJ and book, both Near Very Good.
