On the spine the lettering is easily readable but not sharp. On the front cover the Lakeside emblem and border ( in gilt) are rather sharp. Inside the front cover some hinges are separating at the bottom. 137 pages, plus a 23 page historical introduction, the gilt on the top pages is faded, the outer edge of the pages are deckled. The frontispiece is a portrayal of Chicago in 1853 and the tissue guard is in place and not torn. There are no owner names, or bookplates. I find no underlining, no highlighting, no dogeared pages, not ex-libris, no smudges. For a century old plus volume it is in decent shape. Available for immediate shipment; carefully packed!
