Frontis. portrait of Southey by Freeman after Thomas Barber. Title vignette is that used in the 1813 Longman's edition, by J. Scott. Bound in 20th C. sumptuous three-quarter dark green morocco over marbled boards, five raised bands, tooled-gilt decoration on spine with maroon title labels. New endpapers. Former owner name in pencil on front free endpaper of second volume. A bit of foxing to preliminaries, but not extreme. Corners slightly worn. An exquisite set, with eminently readable typography and luxe shelf appeal.
