About This Item

London: Printed By Samuel Palmer,... and Sold By B. Linton, et al.. Good. 1726. Third Edition. Full Leather. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Tall Collectible Later issue of the 1725 Palmer printing, with some minor changes. Notable for the role of Benjamin Franklin as compositor for this edition, a duty which later occasioned one of his more philosophical early works. Full period panelled brown calf, spine with raised bands, covers tooled and bordered in blind, center panel at center dyed a darker brown, speckled edges (front cover detached; some wear to rear hinge and edges of boards and spine tips; front endpaper detached; lacking half rear endpaper; occasional foxing and some minor stains). Withal a clean copy in an unrestored period binding, needing a new front hinge. Neat ink inscription on front endpaper: "Elisha Fuller from My Mother's Library 18 June 1816". .
