About This Item

Blue cloth covered boards with title pasted on cream paper on spine. Light bumping and scuffing to edges of covers. Binding tight. Front paste-down and front free end paper have a used price and some lettering in ink at the top corner of each page near the spine. Otherwise pages are lightly aged but unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. Includes several black and white illustrations. Published just two years before committing suicide in the face of accusations, which he vehemently denied, of falsifying results, Kammerer uses the endocrine system to illustrate the developmental power of "organic technology." Kammerer draws on the sensational results of his Vivarium colleague, Steinach, and the science of rejuvenation, which he claims is "forging ahead on the road to victory". Rejuvenation was a process which involved wholesale physiological change: the disappearance of wrinkles, alleviation of deafness, improvement in eyesight, restored appetite, luxuriant hair growth, as well as reawakening of the dormant libido.
