Covers slightly darkened from age. 131 single sided pages w/ maps, tables, charts, illus. An uncommon and interesting study of the Detroit Metropolitan area on the eve of World War II, looking at past, pressent, and future trends. Includes discussion of population shifts, migration of industry, water supply and health, housing (including defense housing), recreation, government, Technological developments, regional planing, and certain infrastructure issues such as zoning and land utilization, highlway planning, public relief, school facilities, and hospitals. A great snapshot of an American city on the eve of an industrial expansion.
