A fine copy in green cloth with gilt decorations & lettering to the spine and front board. Gilt rifle and title words along with red and black vine motif. 584 pp. 4 pp advertising at verso. Very collectible condition. Clean throughout. From the recently auctioned collection of noted collector and Steinbeck biographer M.B. and Adrian Homer Goldstone. Minor rubbing to the green cloth. From the author of "In Ole Virginia". Several illustrations throughout by Clinedinst, including the frontispiece--which is still tissue guarded.
