The unique and amusing inscription reads "For Charles G. Smith - My signature to a book I never wrote - Robert Frost - Stetson February 1938. Published by Henry Holt and Company, New York, 1937. First and only edition. Illustrated with frontispiece portrait of the author. The book is in very good plus condition. Rubbing to the gilt titling at the spine, otherwise very well preserved. Bookplate of Charles G. Smith and wife Cornelia on the front pastedown - lending wonderful provenance to Frost's signature. A lovely signed copy from one of America's most revered poets.
