Hardcover has gray cloth-covered boards with gold spine and cover lettering. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Spine ends lightly bumped. Head of spine has a small sunned spot corresponding to the missing piece in the dust jacket. Name in ink on front free endpaper, dated 1959. Pages clean and unmarked. 545 pages. Condensed, edited, and annotated by Earl Schenk Miers. Dust jacket has overall surface rubbing, chipped and nicked edges, and small tears; missing a thumbnail-sized piece at the head of the spine panel. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
