Boston: Houghton Mifflin & Co., 1903. 1st Edition 4th Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. First edition, fourth issue. Published in October, 1903. 12 mo. 327 pp. Green cloth with colored vignettes on the front board and flowers and vines on the spine. Minimal wear: light wear/rubbing to the spine extremities; faint scratch to the rear board. Per BA 22632: P. 325, line 9....Don't turn in at the side. P. 327, line 13...in the October sun. The binding appears to be the A binding with the publisher's name on the spine in letters 1/16" high. An owner's name (Helen L. Reade) on the pastedown, dedication page, and at the top of Page 1 of Chapter 1. A solid very good or better copy.

Synopsis

Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm is a classic American 1903 children's novel by Kate Douglas Wiggin. Rebecca Rowena Randall goes to live with her two stern aunts in the village of Riverboro in Maine. Her joy for life ends up inspiring them. She faces many trials in her young life, but comes through them with more wisdom and understanding. Wiggin wrote a sequel, New Chronicles of Rebecca.
