About This Item

Chicago, Illinois: Rand, McNally & Company, 1936. First Edition Later Printing . Hardcover. Very Good+/Poor. Winter, Milo. Comprehensive collection of about 300 favorite & lesser-known Mother Goose rhymes from the early 20th century, profusely illustrated with delicate line drawings, colorful sketches, & full-page, full-color plates by MW (illustrator Milo Winter, but unattributed). Orig. published in 1916, this is the 1936 printing of that First Edition, identical in all aspects. Hardcover 4to (10" x 12") has sea-foam green cloth-covered boards lettered in gilt to spine (somewhat rubbed & faded here), with a large decorative paper pastedown to front cover, which is flawless! condition overall is VG+: minor rubbing & fading to extremities, rubbing to rear board, light soil to lower spine. Interior is completely clean & bright, with creamy white, unmarked pages showing mild, age-appropriate tanning to edges. Binding strong & straight, hinges intact. The DJ is present, but missing large chips & showing much creasing; both flaps are largely gone, but the DJ did a great job of keeping the book in such beautiful condition! Now covered in clear mylar cover to protect what's left of it. (Note: we are also offering a smaller hardcover "junior" version of this title, with fewer rhymes & no DJ; please see our listing #023264). Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. SORRY: book is too large for expedited domestic or international shipping without preapproval of extra postage (at least double per USPS rates).
