About This Item
In 1959, Reader's Digest (UK) produced The Reader's Digest Bedside Library, which was a collection of 6 books.
It was only printed once and they are now collectors' items.
These little books are 5 1/2" x 4", and each has a different theme.
This is two books from that set.
The Bedside Book of the Art of Living
320 pages
Bound-in silk bookmark, which remains undisturbed.
With woodcut engravings by the British artist Frank Martin.
This book has pressed flowers in it; I've left them alone.
This book has darkened somewhat with age, but it appears to be unread.
The Bedside Book of Discoveries
320 pages
Bound-in silk bookmark.
With woodcut engravings by the German artist Hellmuth Weissenborn.
This book has more wear. There is staining to pages 137-152.
It is quite dry and the binding is starting to pull a little.
