Reviews

On Aug 17 2011, Daniel_Baumgartner said:
This book was complicated but fun, a sort of Borgia family saga, but I had a problem in the beginning trying to keep Italian names straight, like the spaghetti aisle at the grocery store, so I made a list of all parties! The Aurelio Zen series has been produced for PBS and Ratking and one other book in the series were liberally cribbed and totally plot changed. Once I got over the idea that the TV production bore little resemblance to the book, I enjoyed it for what it was. I hear Michael Dibdin is not loved in Italy his sometimes scathing portrayals of Italian political and police life, and justly so. But that isn't his fault!
