Oxford: W. Baxter for Law and Whittaker, 1816. [3], vi-xiv, [3], 2-205pp, [1]. Contemporary half calf and marbled paper over boards, smooth back divided into six panels by black calf onlays, second panel lettered directly with title, panels one, four, and six with drawer handle style tools, and the remaining panels with small drawer handle tools and two palmettes, with small roundels and seed heads to head and tail. Rubbed to spine, especially to black onlays, and rubbed to extremities. Lightly browned internally, previous owner's name to head of ffep, with the armorial bookplate of Edward Thornbrough to front pastedown. Lacks half-title. The engraved frontispiece is by Samuel Springsguth (c.1769-1844), after Henry Corbould. For Springsguth see Alexander, 'A Biographical Dictionary of British and Irish Engravers 1714-1820', page 861.
