This is a Near Fine coy of a reprinted edition. No publication date; circa 1930; lsscommon than the earlier printings. Brick red cloth binding with titling and decorations in black on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 424 pages, with a two-page publisher catalog in the rear. Blue topstain; bookplate on the half-title. Hints of rub to margins and some spotting to the fore-edge; else Fine. The wonderfully illustrated dustjacket is Very Good.(Minus), with chipping along the edges, which have been repaired with celo tape on the inside. In an archival plastic protector.. Reprint Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good (Minus). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Synopsis

Ramona, a novel written by Helen Hunt Jackson, is the story of a part-Scottish and part-Native American orphan girl growing up and getting married in Southern California, suffering racial discrimination and hardship. Originally serialized in the Christian Union on a weekly basis, the novel became immensely popular. Overall, it has had more than 300 printings, been made into four film versions, and has been performed as an outdoor play annually since 1923.
