Book #4 in the 27-book YA series, published 1948-1967, featuring 16-year-old star athlete Bronc Burnett, with "a world of how-to-play tips interwoven with the exciting yarns themselves." Providing "a stadium full of thrills,'' this series was set in Sonora, New Mexico, & offered stories about baseball, football, & scouting, at which Bronc was equally adept. Orig. written in 1950, this is a slightly later printing of that First Edition, listing to BB#6 in front matter& BB#8 on back DJ cover, self-summary on front flap. In 183 pages. With tan textured cloth-over-boards stamped in brown with images of football players to front/brown lettering to spine, this 12mo is in Near Fine condition: exceptionally clean, pages slightly off-white but completely unmarked, binding strong & straight. The unclipped DJ is Good- (minus): cover & spine are colorful & bright, with small rubbed areas of sticker pull; heavier rubbing to back cover; chipping to all corners.
