Hart-Davis,, 1958[-60]. 3 vols., 8vo., First Edition, with 3 frontispieces, very numerous plates and pictorial endpapers; original cloth (red/blue/green respectively) upper boards blocked in gilt, gilt backs, coloured tops (blue/red/grey respectively), a very good, clean set in unclipped dustwrapper, the wrappers lightly chafed at extremities (a little more so on first volume). LOOSELY INSERTED IS A FOYLES LUNCHEON PROGRAMME (1980) SIGNED BY DIANA COOPER (AND LADY ANTONIA FRASER). With small personal bookplate on half-title of first volume. The trilogy comprises The Rainbow Comes and Goes (1958), The Light of Common Day (1959) and Trumpets from the Steep (1960). The Foyles Luncheon (Chairman Dr. Roy Strong), was held to celebrate publication of 'Feminine Beauty' by Lord Kenneth Clark. COMPLETE SETS IN THIS CONDITION ARE INCREASINGLY SCARCE.
