New York: Office of Sup't Railway Mail Service, 1903. No Binding. Near Fine. Railway Mail Service, Second Division Comprising New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Peninsula of Maryland and Virginia: General Order. A collection of 11 newsletters with envelopes sent to Railway Postal Clerk Mr Lawrence Ulysses in Lawrenceville, PA between 1900 and 1903. These were issued thrice weekly for the information and guidance of Postal Clerks and Postmasters and concern adjustments to be made in the routes and timings of mail handling, and conduct of staff. Also an R.P. Clerk's Record of train arrival and departure times completed by Mr Ulysses predecessor Lindon Case. The record is undated but shows that over the course of one month three trains failed to run due to flooding. In near fine condition: the envelopes are browned and a little soiled but the newsletters are crisp and clean. A fascinating piece of railway history. Near Fine 1903
