Popular Mechanics Press, Chicago, 1954. First Edition. Softcover (Side-stapled). Good Condition. Illustrator: Photographic and Illustrations. Index. The text is illustrated with copious black-and-white photographs and the occasional black-and-white illustration. Colour illustrated paperback binding with red, yellow and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. A small potted history of the birth and growth of railways and railroads in America. As you would expect from a magazine from the 1950s it's travelling okay but not in great shape. Creasing to the book corners with rubbing of the book edges, panels and back strip edges. Sunning to the back strip with a very large triangular crease to the front panel. Remnants of a price sticker can be seen to the top right hand corner of the front panel age toning of the text block edges and pages 32 through to 57 had become a little crumpled on the front edge – please see photograph the staples have started to rust.
