About This Item
Tucson, AZ: Two Horses Press, 1978. First Edition. 156pp. Octavo [22.5 cm] Tan cloth with the title gilt stamped on the backstrip. Fine/Fine. Signed by the author on the title page. Illustrated by Joanna Coleman including nice map endsheets. This edition was limited to 500 copies. As the subtitle indicates, these are campfire tales but they are told in verse. A history of relevant events introduces each of more than fifty poems. "The smoke of many campfires of many campfires mingle to make this book. Campfires built in the deep, red canyons of Utah, by the big, roaring rapids of the mighty Colorado River and high on the rising, blue mountains of Southern Arizona." Ford 212.
