About This Item

Hardcover. Good. McGraw-Hill, New York and London, 1937, second edition, 11th impression; 8bo, 160 x 233mm; pp xii, 813; profulelyillustrated throughout with diagrams and other illustration; blackk cloth, spine titled gilt; a little rubbing of the spine ends and with the corners slightly bumped but otherwise a good to very good copy of this work, updated to reflect the then recent advances being made in radio technologies. ... ... ... ... ... In 1925 John Logie Baird made the world's first first public demonstration of moving televised images from a London department store following this up in 1928 with the first transatlantic broadcast. As commonly with the adoption of new technologies there followed a rush of such events, the UK's first major outside broadcast being the coronation of George VI in May 1937. A chapter of this book covers this new and developing technology in detail. The author is Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford.
