Orig. published in 1906, the story is brought to life again for a new generation of readers with colorful illustrations by Holly Johnson: this is the First Printing of the First Edition with those illustrations from 1975 (First, thus). 63 pages. Hardcover 8vo has red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to front & spine. Condition is Near Fine: completely clean, binding strong & straight, pages white & unmarked save for a large gift inscription to verso of ffep from a loving mommy to her daughter. The price-clipped DJ is VG, downgraded due to slight edgewear, including some small chips & a2" long unclosed tear descending from top edge of front cover near outer fore edge, which has some creasing & a small chip around it.
