Lugduni Batavorum: Joannem van Abcoude, 1734. One octavo volume bound here as two: *8, A-2I8, 2K5; 2K6-8, 2L-3I8, 3K4. [14],522 pp.; 523-871,[16] pp. Full red morocco with gilt double-rules on sides, gilt decorated spine in six compartments with a black morocco label, a.e.g., green ribbon markers, and marbled endpapers. Handsome anonymous armorial bookplate with the motto "loyalte na honte" (perhaps belonging to a Duke of Newcastle) on front pastedown in each volume. The once elegant bindings show moderate shelfwear, with joints tender and cracking. Posthomerica: Original Greek text on verso, with a Latin translation on facing page.
