About This Item

Philadelphia: Joseph Rakeshaw, 1815. Second edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Corrected and enlarged. 8vo, publisher's old calf, red spine label, very good, some rubbing and light wear to binding, old Mechanic's Institute bookplate on pastedown and some writing on endpapers, old blank paper label at head of spine, text very good but with usual tanning. 554 pp. We noted that at the time of this listing, another bookseller noted frontispieces of Dow and his wife in an 1815 edition, but research shows that this was published without such frontispieces and our copy is complete and not lacking anything.
