Arthur Rackham etc. The first edition of this collection of stories and artwork, published in aid of Queen Mary's convalescent auxiliary hospitals, with illustrations from the celebrated Arthur Rackham. The first edition.In the original publisher's cloth. Illustrated with a full colour tipped in frontispiece and eleven tipped in colour plates. Collated complete. This work features a collection of stories from a host of popular literary figures such as J. M. Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan, John Buchan and many more. Illustrated throughout by a selection of illustrators including the noted Arthur Rackham, one of the most important illustrators of his day. This work was in aid of the Queen Mary's Convalescent Auxiliary Hospitals, for soldiers and sailors who have lost their limbs in the war. Undated, dated by copies held on Jisc. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally smart with fading to the spine, slight marks to the boards, light rubbing to the extremities and joints. Lacking front free endpaper with archival tape re-enforcements to the front hinge and light age toning to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with very lightly age toned and generally clean pages with the odd minor handling mark and the odd spot. Old ink inscription dated 1917 to the front free endpaper. Very Good
