First American edition of Swinburne's first book, 12mo., burgundy cloth, gilt titles, top edge gilt, 232 pp. Heavy paper. Book was purchased from the historical collection of one of the USA's oldest libraries and bears its antique hand-numbered and hand-dated bookplate. This particular book was #1107 in the library's collection and was entered on January 1, 1869. Spine sunned, wear to top and bottom of spine, foxing on bookplate. Very good condition..
