Vol. 1 illustrated with b/w steel engraved portrait of William Cecil, Lord Burghley protected by original tissue guard. Vol. 2 illustrated with a fold out, "Fac Simile of Pedigree, with Notes. &c. in the Hand Writing of Lord Burghley." Severe sunning to boards and spines. Stamp of Stanford Library on Frontis piece of vol. 1. Hinges of both volumes starting. Books are in overall good condition.
