About This Item
London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1910 Letters (all incoming) to Sir John Rodes of Barlbrough Hall, in the County of Derby, Baronet, and to John Gratton of Monyash 1693-1742. The Quakers, at that time, were mostly men of the humbler sort, and John Rodes was evidently of some account amongst them. It is delightful to read of the exceeding joy of these simple people at the conversion to their faith of one baronet. Having said that many of the letters are from William Penn, no less. 202pp with b/w and folding plates.

About Wadard Books PBFA
The shop of Wadard Books is located in a listed 17th century timber framed building in the historic Kentish village of Farningham. The business is named after Wadard, one of Farningham's Domesday landlords, a henchman of Bishop Odo and featured on the Bayeaux tapestry.
