Roma: Academia Nazionale dei Lincei, 1960. First edition. Hardcover. vg. Quarto. 464, 22pp. Red cloth with gold lettering on spine. Wolf Leslau's ex-libris on inside of front board. Scarce work compiling the latest studies and research work on Ethiopia, and read at the First International Conference of Ethiopian studies, which was held in Rome (1959). This work is profusely illustrated with 1 folding map, 12 full-page b/w photographic reproductions of views and documents, and numerous b/w in-text photographic reproductions. Minor age-wear on binding with spine slightly age-toned. Minor age-toning along paper margin. One folding plate neatly cut in two (but both parts present). Text in Italian, English, French, Arabic, Amharic, and German. Binding and interior in overall good+ to very good condition.

Text in Italian, French and English. Minor age-wear on wraps with minor soiling on covers and slight creasing on spine. Good+ condition. *Cyrus Herzl Gordon (1908 - 2001), was an American scholar of Near Eastern cultures and ancient languages.
