Ecclesiastes is part of the Wisdom literature of the Christian Old Testament, composed by an unknown author (believed to be Solomon). It contains thoughts of which many have become proverbs: "Vanity of vanities! All is futile!" Ecclesiastes is a transliteration of the Greek Ekklesiastes, deriving from ekklesia (assembly). Ecclesiastes is presented as the biography or the journey of "Kohelet," being referred to in the third person by the narrator, towards understanding of life. The literary form is taken from the Middle Eastern tradition of fictional autobiography and considered "wisdom literature," a popular genre in the ancient world. Text in Italian. Spine of chemise lightly sunned. Book in fine condition. Slipcase protected in modern mylar.
