Paperback small octavo, very good condition, black & white drawings (some full-page), spine lightly creased, bottom corner rear cover creased, top edge minimally foxed, minor edgewear. 288 pp. Michael Carter takes the idea from Gaston Bachelard of material imagination, that is, to look beyond the physical form of a piece of art, and how this is transformed into a desirable human image.
