Philadelphia: The John C. Winston Company, 1949. First edition, as stated. Hardcover. Good/good. Bolden, Joseph. 216 pages, illustrated with black and white drawings. Classic high school football story about a new by and new coach who turn around the fortunes of a losing team. Navy blue cloth binding with gilt titles on spine. Cover a bit faded with some edge wear, corners and spine ends bumped, gilt a little rubbed at spine base, a little spotting, interior pages lightly tanned, binding tight. Mylar protected illustrated dust jacket with black and yellow titles on front cover and spine is a little creased, light edge wear, scrubbed spots at base and top of jacket spine, chip in jacket back cover at upper edge near spine, edges clipped.
