About This Item

London, England: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., Ltd., 1959. New Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. In which Jung laid out his theories of human "types," differentiating between extraverted (his spelling) & introverted. He explores the problems of types in history, literature, aesthetics & art, philosophy, biography, poetry, & psychiatry. Translated from the original German by H. Godwin Baynes, who also adds a Preface comparing Jung with his contemporary & fellow psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud. Originally published in Britain in 1923, this is a "New Impression," also British, undated, in 654 pages with Index + 8 pages of additional titles in this series (International Library of Psychology, Philosophy, and Scientific Method) in rear. With deep green publisher's cloth over boards lettered in bright gilt to spine, this 8vo is extremely clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages creamy white & unmarked, with mild tanning to outer edges. Tiny 1/4" split at heel of spine, very mild corner bumping. No DJ. A handsome edition! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (PST); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
