Side-stitched and rebound in leather, 8 by 5.25 inches; 227 pages plus ad for 'Natural History of the Bible', Four spine bands outlined in gilt with titles stamped in gilt.

Heavily toned with loss on the perimeter of the title page and a dampstain on the last 6 pages. Lacking all blank preliminaries. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, Minimal shelf handling wear.. A scarce religious piece and very early American Imprint from the Federal Period by Isaac Watts, an English theologian and hymn writer, theologian, and logician.

He was a prolific and popular hymn writer and is credited with some 750 hymns. His works include 'When I Survey the Wondrous Cross', 'Joy to the World', and 'Our God, Our Help in Ages Past'.
