Piacenza: Torchi Del Majno. Good with no dust jacket. 1821. Hardcover. [iv] 288 pp. With the bookplate of noted collector of proverb books and mysterious man of the world, de Guinzbourg. Original marbled hard paper boards with leather spine, black and gilt spine label. Someone has shellacked the spine in the long ago giving it a very shiny and slightly crackly appearance. Boards have some normal wear and rubbing at the edges. Interior front hinge starting to separate, minor foxing very occasionally, a small bit of humidity staining just at the top edge at the back of the book. An interesting collection of proverbs with nice provenance. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 288 pages .
