Nelson,, [1952]. 8vo., First Edition, with a portrait frontispiece, 4 coloured plates, a full-page illustration and 5 maps (2 double-page) in the text, and a large folding coloured chart, some faint offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; original regimental green cloth, crest blocked in gilt on upper cover, gilt back, green top, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter lightly browned and with minor loss (not affecting lettering) at head and tail of backstrip. Lovely copy of the first of four volumes of the author's standard history . Scarce in this condition. Sutcliffe, p. 373; White, p.117.
