About This Item
1788 Queen Elizabeth I 1ed Progresses England Illustrated London MAP Nichols
"No library should be without these volumes!" (Allibone)
John Nichols was an 18th-century English antiquarian who was best-known for his portfolio of works on English royalty. Perhaps his most important work was his 'Progresses of Queen Elizabeth'. In this absolutely incredible work, Nichols highlights the reign of Elizabeth I and her influence on the English throne, foreign diplomacy, and much more. This book has long been considered one of the prime resources on the court of Elizabeth I much in part to the first-hand accounts included throughout.
According to Allibone,
"No library should be without these volumes…affording a living picture of the manners of England, its pursuits and its amusements."
