A comprehensive socio-economic study of Britain, with reference to population, occupations, emigration, agriculture, manufacturers, trade, currency, communication, consumption, and much more. Also includes chapters on education, colonisation, and crime. Written by George Richard Porter, an English statistician who became head of the statistical department of the Board of Trade. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and the odd mark to the board. Fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed
